Take part in World Collage Day

Are you a community group, youth organisation or day service? Or are you just curious about collaging and want to give it a try?

Would you like to connect with others, close to you and around the world... cutting, pasting and celebrating collage.

'One of the many remarkable things about collage is its ability to extend across borders and to involve people regardless of skill level.' Kolaj Magazine.

Southwest Collage Collective is inviting people to take part on 8th May 2021, using the hashtag #WorldCollageDay

Furthermore, you can sign-up for a FREE collage kit to get you started, followed by instructions for the day itself.

*for community groups please indicate the numbers of kits needed. Numbers are limited and will be given out on a first come first served basis, but a cheap resource list will be shared before the event.

World Collage Day

World Collage Day is an annual, international celebration of collage on the Second Saturday of May. Initiated by Kolaj Magazine in 2018, we invited artists and art venues to hold events on that day to celebrate collage. World Collage Day is about artists connecting across borders against a global context of entrenchment and separation. And the day is about an art medium that excels at bringing different things together to create new forms and new ways of thinking. Ric Kasini Kadour, the editor of Kolaj Magazine, writes, “We created World Collage Day because we wanted to honour this community of artists and to remind the world what a spirit of cooperation, mutual support, and creativity can look like".

Poster by Colombian Collective Red Collage. The poster is used around the world to promote the annual international celebration of collage. The poster will also appear on the cover of a Special Edition of the magazine that is issued in honour of the day.
